This is a historical and spiritual pilgrimage on the Outer path of the St. Olavsleden. The path goes trough beautiful cultural landscapes and we will visit some of the key historical places and ruins in Trøndelag. The only jekt still existing in the whole world, “Pauline” (built in 1897), will take us across the fjord to Trondheim on the last day.
Walking together in a group gives new depth to old friendships and favourable conditions for new friendships. On this guided walk, you will enjoy wonderful nature-based experiences and gain knowledge of the region’s rich cultural heritage.
Wandering in the pilgrims’ footsteps can be a spiritual journey as well as a beautiful nature-based experience. On the way to the Nidaros Cathedral, you will be part of a fellowship, learn fascinating history, visit traditional pilgrim hostels and eat local food. We emphasize experiences to stimulate reflection and joy. Our wandering through a changing landscape invites conversation and reflection.
We start our pilgrimage at Stiklestad at 10:00 on Wednesday 14th of August.
We wander approx. 20 km per day wearing a day pack.
The hike is guided by Heidi Carine Brimi. She is the manager of Stiklestad Pilgrim Center, a Viking age archaeologist and nature lover. She has been guiding people through both time and nature for 25 years. Local guides will also join in on the historical places along the path. Bring your own sleeping bag.
